Data Science Capabilities for Field Epidemiologists to Better Prevent, Detect, and Respond to the Global Pandemic Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) (Data Science)
Objective
To Improve international collaboration on data science among field epidemiology workforce in this region.
Accomplishment (April 2022 to September 2023)
- Developing a course curriculum on regional data science for field epidemiology mentors and mentees, completed on 2-3 April 2023.
- Up-skilling field epidemiology mentors in data science by conducting a 9-month course on basic data science for field epidemiology mentors. This course was conducted between on June 2023 to February 2024.
- Supporting participants from the 9-month course to attend the online self-learning course “R-program, Machine Learning and Python”, June-July 2023.
- Conducting onsite training 1-week course for FETP mentors (the 9-month course), 21-25 August 2023.
- Working with mentors and mentees of the 9-month course in developing the proposal of health situation analysis in data science, August-September 2023.
