The 10th Steering Committee Meeting of ASEAN+3 Field Epidemiology Training Network



The 10th Steering Committee Meeting of ASEAN+3 Field Epidemiology Training Network was held at Melia Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, during 3-4 July, 2019.

Ten ASEAN Plus Three Countries (except Indonesia, Myanmar and Republic of Korea), ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) and ASEAN Plus Three FETN Coordinating Office (FETN CO) attended this meeting. Key development partners including Austrailia National University (ANU), Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN), United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization – Western Pacific Regional Office(WHO-WPRO), and World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) also participated in the meeting

Cambodia and Japan, as the out-going Co-Chairs, handed over the chairmanship in 2019-20 to Malaysia. The meeting noted the remarkable contribution of Cambodia and Japan in the meantime.

The meeting reviewed activities in 2018-2019, updated Strategic Plan in 2016-2020, shared highlights on development of FETP from each country, exchanged the novel training methods, synergized with Dialogue partners, then proposed and agreed on the action points to be implemented in 2019-2020.
