The 9th Steering Committee Meeting of ASEAN+3 Field Epidemiology Training Network



The 9th Steering Committee Meeting of ASEAN+3 Field Epidemiology Training Network was held at National Institute of Infectious Disease (NIID), Tokyo, Japan, during 25-27 September, 2018.

Ten ASEAN Plus Three Countries (except Malaysia, China, and Republic of Korea), ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) and ASEAN Plus Three FETN Coordinating Office (FETN CO) attended this meeting. Key development partners including Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN), United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization – Western Pacific Regional Office(WHO-WPRO), and World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) also participated in the meeting

Singapore, as the out-going Chair, handed over the chairmanship in 2018 to Cambodia and Japan. The meeting noted the remarkable contribution of Singapore in the meantime.

The meeting reviewed activities in 2017-2018, updated Strategic Plan in 2016-2020, shared highlights on development of FETP from each country, exchanged the novel training methods, synergized with Dialogue partners, then proposed and agreed on the action points to be implemented in 2018-2019.
