Workshop on Developing Case Studies on Outbreak Investigation, December 2011, Singapore

Case studies for Adenovirus, Dengue Fever & Salmonella Enteritidis outbreaks were developed. Participants from Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, & Vietnam as well as observers from WHO & Singapore's MOH attended..

After Finalizing Activity 7, Conduct Tabletop & Field-Based Joint Outbreak Investigation

During 2nd Steering Committee Meeting in July 2012, the meeting agreed the activity will focus on capacity building and link to guidelines (JMOIR developed by Cambodia AEGCD). An administrative guideline to conduct this activity will be developed first.

Hand, Foot, & Mouth Disease (HFMD) Workshop for Surveillance, Clinical Management & Laboratory, October 2012, Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam

Added other areas such as laboratory to workshop focus after request from SOMHD in Cebu, March 2012. Meeting fostered sharing experience and knowledge in good practices & gaps in epidemiology, surveillance, response, clinical management, and laboratory practices in HFMD. Identified priority areas for follow-up, and confirmed collaborative projects under umbrella of FET. Final report available on secure FETN Reports Page.

HFMD Video Conference

In September 2011, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand & Vietnam as well as reps from WHO SEARO & WPRO attended. Countries shared situation, surveillance & control methods for HFMD. This first regional communication strengthened field epidemiology training (FET), the network, & proved this sort of communication among ASEAN+3 Countries is possible & effective.

This activity was completed per request from ASEAN Secretariat in August 2012. On this site, FETN Secretariat added a section for HFMD manuscripts found in PubMed that were developed by FETPs and/or Steering Committee Members.
